Sylvester Merle Hauf

Sy was born on March 7th 1936 to Frieda Miller Hauf and Gahardt Hauf.

Sy was raised and educated in South Dakota and North Dakota. He graduated from High School in Tuttle North, Dakota. He served in the Armed Forces. 

Sy was married to Valora Wynes for fifteen years and raised three children. On December 2, 1980 he married Pauline Martinez. Sylvester and Pauline enjoyed 37 years of marriage until she passed in 2018.

Sy loved to hunt, fish, go camping and gold mining. He was an avid collector and enjoyed going to auctions sales.

Sy is survived by his daughters Jackie Tollefson and Jolene Sjostrom. Four grandchildren Cory Mayers, Chris Mayers, Noah Sjostrom and Belle Sjostrom, three great grandchildren and two great grandchildren,  One sister in-law Pat Hauf of Boise Idaho and several nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews. 

He was proceeded in death by his father, mother, and brother Robert Hauf and son Jeffrey Hauf.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held at Parkview Cemetery in New Plymouth, Idaho on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 10:30 am
