Sherry Lea Bailey Kalthoff, 76, after a feisty tango with Pulmonary Fibrosis, took her final bow on August 15, 2024, in Ontario, Oregon. Born on July 26, 1948, in Beloit, Kansas, Sherry was the life of every party and the heart of her family.
Known for her award-winning secretarial skills (and her uncanny ability to organize anything better than a library's card catalog), Sherry once earned the title of Secretary of the Year, complete with cheers from kids and a trip to Cancun that was more festive than a piñata at a birthday bash.
Sherry's later years were spent at the Farewell Bend Port of Entry, where she wasn't just processing paperwork; she was distributing smiles and collecting friends like some people collect stamps. Her colleagues would agree, she was less of a co-worker and more of a ray of sunshine in human form.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Raymond Kalthoff, who was her partner in crime and life. Her Brother Brad Bailey and Sister Vicky Shipp (Jim). Her legacy continues through her children, Lisa Hedges (Jeremy), Scott McVicker (Halle), Dennis Kalthoff (Julie), and Chrissy Kalthoff (Mark), who inherited her zest for life and impeccable filing skills. Sherry had a loving family who she impacted.
Grandchildren: Joseph Bielamowicz (Kyla), Haley Kemmsies (Wade), Jordan McVicker, Dylan McVicker, Jenna McVicker, Diana Le, Antoine Le, Chloe Nguyen, Eleanor Strub, Henry Strub, Devin Kalthoff, Dennis Kalthoff Jr., Ariel Olsen (Aiden).
Great Grandchildren: Rylee Kemmsies, Niamh Ercse, Adrian Le.
Sherry was greeted on the other side by her parents, Hazel and Joseph Bailey, who were probably wondering what took her so long.
Join us for a graveside shindig on August 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Rosewood Cemetery in Payette, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation-because Sherry believed in breathing life into every situation.
Arrangements are in the capable hands of Haren-Wood funeral home, Ontario, Oregon. Sherry's memory will be a treasure chest of joy and laughter for all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Let's keep the party going in her honor, just as she would have wanted.
