Growing up in a United Methodist clergy family, Sarah lived in Idaho and several Oregon communities  - Joseph/Wallowa, Hood River, Vale, Lakeview/Paisley - each place shaping her spirit and wide curiosity. She graduated with honors from Vale High School in 2001 and went on to earn a BA in Mass Communications emphasis News Documentary, and minor in Professional Writing, graduating cum laude from Northwest Nazarene University in 2006. She was elected the Treasurer of the Junior Class. She was in several plays including the Junior Class play "Traveling Light." She loved singing in the university choir, writing for the campus newspaper, and performing in theater productions.

Sarah received many notable awards, including Who's Who Among Young Professionals (2007), Who's Who Among High School Students (2000), and several others. She took three years of Spanish at Vale High School.

Sarah built a meaningful career in communications and healthcare support, working for KIVI Channel 6 News, Health Management Systems, and Blue Cross of Idaho. She took pride in helping others, whether coordinating a newsroom or assisting clients with knowledge and efficiency.

She loved her pets - Pepi, Snowball, and Arya. She loved coffee and tea of various and different kinds. She enjoyed everything British. She was an excellent photographer and loved creative writing. She enjoyed gardening and growing plants. She was baptized and professed her faith in Christ. She enjoyed serving as a Page to the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. She also possessed a competitive and determined spirit, approaching challenges head-on and meeting them with strength and perseverance. Music remained an important part of her life, from childhood choirs to singing with the Chancel Choir at Boise First United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed family trips in the motorhome, visiting national parks, historic sites, and beautiful places across the country. She delighted in hot air balloons, ice sculptures, concerts, and adventures with friends and family. Her laugh was bright and contagious, and her smile could light up a room. She loved juggling, dancing, ballet, and staying active at local gyms. Above all, she lived with courage, determination, and faith.

She especially enjoyed her grandmother Bernice Kinsel and helped to celebrate her 100th birthday on December 28, 2019 in Spokane, WA.

She loved to crochet hats, hot pads and other items, doing artwork, and cooking. She had an infectious and happy laugh. She had a wonderful and expressive smile and was an amazing young adult and remained strong and bold right up to the end of her life.
