Roger Smith, 83 of Payette passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home.
Roger Dean Smith, born to Dwight A. Smith and Wilma L. Smith in Lakota, Iowa. He was one of six children.
Roger attended school through the eighth grade and once he was of age, he joined the Navy and served from March 01, 1956, through February 24, 1958. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy.
Roger has four living children from a previous marriage to Lois Smith. Roger and Vivian Sparks were married July 13, 1979, in Nampa, Idaho. They later moved to Payette, Idaho. Roger and Vivian enjoyed gardening, fishing, and boating. Roger loved custom tilling.
Roger is survived by his children Robin Smith, Ronda Enderson, Rodney Smith, Rolinda Smith Colby, sister Carol Frank, and his three brothers, Bruce Smith, Dick Smith, and Denny Smith. He has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Roger is preceded in death by his wife Vivian, parents Dwight and Wilma Smith, son Roy Lee Smith, and brother Woody Smith, nephew Rich Frank, and niece Julie Carson.
A Celebration of his and Vivian's lives will be held at the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in Payette, on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 2 pm. A picnic dinner will follow at the Kiwanis Park across the street.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Payette.
