Raul Chavez Obituary

Raul Chavez (Viuda) passed unexpectedly on November 23, 2021 at the age of 62.

Raul was born on June 15, 1959 in Sidney, Montana to Enedelia Moreno and Raul Chavez. Although, Raul traveled within the United States as a truck driver he considered Nyssa, Oregon to be home. He love the simplicity of life there and couldn’t wait to get back to his one traffic light home town.

Raul is preceded in death by his parents  Enedelia Estrada and Raul Chavez and his Tio Luis and his Tio Efrain Moreno. He is survived by his children Raul Chavez III (Elizabeth), Francisco Chavez (Nicole), Angel Chavez and his daughters Rosie Chavez (Joel) and Vanessa Chavez (Jesse). He leaves behind three siblings, his sister Martha Lopez (Heriberto)and two brothers, Jesse Estrada (Rosa) and Gabriel Estrada (Esmeralda). Raul leaves behind his parter in life Mia Lara and their blended family, Ashley (Saintago) Azaria, Brittany (Ryan) Palmer and Anthony (Sujei) Palmer. He leaves behind 24 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

Raul had a passion for driving his and working on his semi’s. He also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle gave him a sense of freedom. You would often find Mia and Raul along with his lifetime friends Cheto and John Boy going for all day motorcycle rides during his free time. He enjoyed Tejano dancing and was great at it. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed exploring unknown paths as it satisfied his love for adventure and meeting people. He took joy in watching and photographing beautiful sunsets and sunrises. He had a love for old vehicles and looked forward to retirement where he could work alongside his sons in restoring the vehicles he collected with them in mind. Most importantly and above all, Raul enjoyed spending time with his children and family, making pancakes for his grandchildren and laughing with them. During his quiet time he loved watching westerns and movies at home or sitting at the Nyssa Tavern having a beer and catching up with his friends. Family time was often spent BBQ’ing with his siblings, nieces and nephews who always made his life so much brighter. Raul enjoyed a spending time with his companion Brutus during this work day and could be snuggling with him during his down time.

Everyone blessed to know Raul could not help but notice his charisma that immediately drew you to him. Because of his fun loving nature and his heart of gold he was admired by many. He was the kind of man who could go to every corner of the world and make a friend who often became family for life. He will forever be known as the type of man who would take a stranger in and teach them his semi skills so they could get work and provide for their family. Without hesitation he would make someone’s life easier by providing a meal, a bed or needed equipment/material to keep someone going in their business or life. He had a very generous heart, a contagious smile, laugh and love for life. Raul will be greatly missed by his family and friends for his heart of gold and his ability to make everyone feel extra special.
