Pearl Wettstein Obituary

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Pearl Kay Wettstein passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in Ontario, Oregon, at the age of 87.

Born on October 15, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, Pearl was the youngest of five siblings. She possessed a quiet strength and a lifelong commitment to faith, family, and service. She received her education at BYU, where she cultivated the talents and strong moral foundation that would guide her life.

Pearl’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with deep love and steadfast devotion. For over 50 years, she was married to the love of her life, Richard. They shared a beautiful partnership characterized by mutual respect and a wonderful passion for ballroom dancing with her favorite partner.

An avid seamstress, Pearl created countless beautiful garments for her family, crafting not just with thread, but with care and love in every stitch. Her greatest earthly achievement, however, was her family. She was the devoted mother of six children, instilling in them a deep sense of faith and responsibility.

A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pearl loved serving others. She dedicated years of her life to various church callings, including teaching the youth, serving as Relief Society President, Stake Dancing instructor and Stake Missionary. Her unwavering testimony and gentle guidance influenced many lives, leaving a legacy of faith that continues through her posterity.

Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Pearl Ballantyne and siblings, David Ballantyne, Marion Willes and Genevie Stoker.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her brother, Melvin (Ada); her six children: Weston, Daniel (Lynn), Launa (Sam), Sherrie (Steve), Steve (Megan), and Dale (Marcie). Her legacy of love and faith also lives on through her 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and commitment to her family and faith will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
