Patrick Jerial Hartman March 23, 1948 - October 26, 2019 Patrick Jerial Hartman passed away October 26, 2019 at the age of 71. He was born March 23, 1948 to Harlan and Violet Hartman in McMinnville, Oregon. Patrick graduated from Thurston Highschool in 1966, and joined the United States Army not soon after. Patrick led a varied life, from serving in the Armed Forces as an MP, to a Eugene, Oregon police officer, a logger in Alaska and finally a cold storage maintenance engineer for Americold in Burley, Idaho, where he finally retired in April of 2013. Pat definitely had a mechanical gift. As long as I could remember, he could fix just about anything that was mechanized, cars, trucks, huge refrigerators and anything with wheels. But as good as he was with engines, he definitely had an issue with wood. He couldn’t cut a straight line in a piece of wood, it just wasn’t a skill that he ever mastered. Pat’s favorite hobbies include the ever present crossword puzzle, fishing for big trout and watching the Dallas Cowboys, although he would admit not so much as of late. Pat is survived by his younger brother and wife, Dan and Char Hartman, his sister-in-law, Betty Hartman. His children include, his oldest son, Kevin Hartman, son Cory Hartman and his daughter Tricia VanHoose. There is another fine young man who should be also included in this list, Billy Mahan, although not directly kin, Pat most definitely believed that Billy was his son as much as the rest, and rightly so. Pat also had another son, Terry Hood, who is sorely missed. There is also a whole passel of grandkids and a few great-grandkids who will miss their grandfather immensely. I could write several pages about my father, but he wouldn’t hear of it, so with much love, dad, please rest peacefully, we’ll hold the line from here. I’ll love you always, Your son, Kevin Hartman A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2020 - date is TBD .
