Patricia Foster Obituary

On February 24, 2019 Patty Foster, mother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away with her family at her side. She will be truly missed by her entire family.
Patty was born April 4, 1952 in Nampa, ID, the third child of Bill and Eleanor Brassfield. She started school at Midway Elementary and graduated from Vallivue High School in 1970. Patty demonstrated a significant talent and love of the arts throughout high school. Choir, musical theater and drill team were the focus of Patty’s high school activities. She received a performing arts scholarship to attend Boise State College. This love matured as Patty often sang in local restaurants and bars as well as performed with an Ontario theatre group - Onion Skin Players. Among her starting roles were Calamity Jane and Sadie Green. After a year of college Patty was given the opportunity to travel with Educational Communications International on a tour of the Pacific for 3 1/2 months. Patty married and had a daughter, Brandy Foster, the love of her life. Patty raised Brandy as a single mother devoting all her effort and time to supporting and providing for Brandy. Patty was a Fruitland Band Mom supporting Brandy and all the students in concert, jazz and marching band.
Patty spent her career as a bookkeeper largely in the trucking/freight industry as well as maintaining her notary license. Patty’s self-sufficiency and strength combined with creativity and her love of the arts resulted in a strong commitment to DIY projects. Over the years, Patty built a house in Middleton, re-sided her final home and built an accompanying shed. She loved her yard, woodworking, ceramics and wood-burning. Away from home, Patty always made time to go camping and fishing with her daughter Brandy.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mike Brassfield (Fruitland), & an infant sister Billy. She is survived by her daughter Brandy Foster & son-in-law Dan Buker (Ontario), sister Cheryl Morris (Parma), sister-in-law Sharon Schaaf (Ontario), nieces & nephews Marti & Joe Van Winkle, Kelly & Josh Nichols, Matt & Kelli Brassfield, and great-nieces and nephews Ambyr & Courtney Van Winkle, Jackson & Parker Nichols, and Ashton, Claire & Michael Brassfield. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 10:00 a.m. at Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, 28531 ID HWY-18, Parma, ID 83660.
