Joan Sanders

Joan Sanders 91, died February 5, 2024, peacefully at home with family present. She was born October 24, 1932, in Ontario, Oregon to John and Rebecca (Taylor) Paulson.

Joan attended Conklin Grade School and Ontario Junior High School. She completed her GED, and attended classes at Treasure Valley Community College. On November 13, 1948 she married Garreld Stovern, Sr. They had four children Gary Stovern, Pam Shambaugh, Randy Stovern and Shelley Stovern. Joan took classes and recieved her Insurance Agent license for Oregon. She worked for Field Waldo Insurance for 32 years. Joan lived in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Joan married Dr. Wilfred (Sandy) Sanders in November 1998.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Dr. Wilfred Sanders in 2001, and Garreld Stovern in 1988. Her oldest son, Gary Stovern,2014, and granddaughter, Kristen Stovern, siblings: Bill Paulson, Carol Paulson, Paul Paulson, Marie Hoopes, Katherine Benintendi, Darlene Lane, and Vivian McPhearson.

Joan is survived by her sister, Marylee Hartwig and children: Pam Shambaugh, Ontario, OR. Randy Stovern, Medford, OR. and Michelle Stovern, Ontario, OR. She is also survived by grandchildren: Angela Brenton-Encinas, Boise, ID, Jared Stovern, Medford, OR, Anna Keeler, Atwater, CA, Bonnie Brown, Pullman, WA, and Cora Gempler, Boise, ID.

Services will be held at the Ontario, OR Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Ontario, Oregon on February 13, 2024 at 1pm
