JoAnn Elaine Johnson was born March 6 th 1944 to Levi and Josie Johnson in Alameda, California.
She was baptized into Christ on November 25 th 1984.
JoAnn had an adventurous childhood as her father was a heavy equipment operator in the construction field. She and her parents got to travel around and see a lot of the country as his job sites changed often.
JoAnn met the love of her life, Dwane Stoneman at the Weiser, Idaho rodeo. They were married November 21 st 1961. They had a mutual love for rodeo and raising registered quarter horses. They had a love of family also, as they had 7 beautiful children.
The almost 62 years of marriage took JoAnn and Dwane many places. They started out with their own dairy herd on the Oregon Slope. They lived and worked on a cattle ranch in Durkee, Or. They also spent a lot of time raising their family in Northern Idaho and then fnally circling back home to the family ranch on the Oregon Slope. The children always had their own horses and dogs, and never had a dull moment while growing up.
JoAnn enjoyed being active in her community, as she was a long time 4-H leader, and a member of Malheur County Search and Rescue, along with Payette Valley Riders Club and Back Country Horsemen, where she held numerous offices.
JoAnn did lots of reading and research on training dogs and Livestock health. She had a wealth of knowledge and shared this knowledge with her children and others. She was sassy, spicy, witty, funny and ready for the next adventure.
JoAnn loved hearing God’s Word, and studying the Bible. Church was important to her as she always looked forward to hearing The Word preached and receiving His gifts of forgiveness of sins, life and salvation.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Dora Lee, her parents, Josie and Levi Johnson, and her brother Bud Johnson.
