Jeffrey Grigg Obituary

Jeffrey Alma Grigg, 60, of Nyssa, Oregon, left this world of pain and sorrow on July 3, 2024, to join his dad and brother in a place of peace and joy. Jeffrey, the fourth of Richard and Angie Grigg’s seven children, was born in Glendale, California, on December 30, 1963. He grew up in Burley, Idaho; Walnut Creek, California; Vale, Oregon; and Rexburg, Idaho. He graduated from Madison High School in 1982, where he wrestled and played football. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, L. Richard Grigg; his brother William Norman Grigg; his niece Linda Michelle Hansen; and his sister-in-law Karen Grigg; as well as his grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his mother, Angie Grigg, of Twin Falls, Idaho; his sister Judy (Dee) Hansen of Twin Falls, Idaho; his brother Karl Grigg of Boise, Idaho; his brother Richard (Teresa) Grigg of Salem, Utah; his brother John (Randy) Grigg of Burnsville, Minnesota; his sister Laura Pulido of Benbrook, Texas; his aunt Joan Schulthies of Nyssa, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. Jeff liked to eat and he liked to work. When he was a little boy he was happy and helpful as long as he could eat breakfast as soon as he got out of bed in the morning. He spent many childhood hours playing with his brothers, riding horses, playing in the ditch, and generally causing havoc. He loved animals, especially his last two dogs, Bennett and Sally. As an adult, he made his living with his muscles carrying hod for bricklaying crews, driving truck, and doing construction work. In fact, he used to say that he “helped build Reno!” Jeff had no children of his own, but he spent many happy hours fixing up bikes and toys for his brother Will’s kids; being surrogate uncle to his friend Tracy’s children, whom he often took for rides in his truck to get slushies; and helping his great nephews, Rodrigo and Ivan. Jeff was a survivor, who lived through a battle with flesh-eating bacteria that left him disabled and in constant pain. He ended up in a wheelchair after a series of failed knee surgeries, which led to his having a rod implanted that went from his hip to his ankle. He finally said “No more surgeries.” May you rest in peace, Jeff, in a place where there is no more sorrow and no more pain.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Owyhee Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1 pm.  A time of visitation with the family will be at the church from 12 - 1 pm.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Ontario.
