James Chancellor Obituary

James Franklin Chancellor, born on April 6, 1927, left us on April 1, 2023, at the age of 95, he was at home and was surrounded by his loving family.

James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and father figure to many. He was a man of great integrity, wisdom, and kindness, who touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community.

Born in the small town of Yeager, Oklahoma, James was the son of a farmer and a homemaker. He grew up during the Great Depression and learned the value of hard work and perseverance at a young age. He served in the navy during World War II and Korea. Jim was a star basketball player in his youth, playing for many local teams in Oklahoma.

James had a long and successful career in the oil industry, working for several major companies over the years. He was a respected drilling fluid engineer, known for his attention to detail and his ability to solve complex problems. His work took him from the deserts of Nigeria to the Frozen tundra of Alaska to name a few.

James was also a dedicated family man. He married the love of his life Addie and they had 52 wonderful years together until her passing in 2013.  James and Addie had two children together Deborah who was born in 1967 but sadly she only graced this earth for a few short hours and their son Zane was born in 1973. Addie had a daughter Sherri from a previous marriage and Jim cherished raising her as his own. James was a devoted father and grandfather, always putting his family first.

In his free time, James enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching sports, and tinkering with engines. James was a man of many talents and interests, and he always had a kind word and a helping hand for anyone who needed it.

James is survived by his children, Zane (Paula) Chancellor of Kuna Idaho, and Sherri Black of Bakersfield California, his  grandchildren, Jim (Lindsey) Wiederrich of Joliet, Montana, Randy (Kim) Wiederrich of Bakersfield, CA, as well as Jimmy Chancellor, Zane Chancellor Jr., and Eddie Chancellor, all of Kuna, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his Daughter Deborah and his wife Addie. He was the last surviving  family member of his parents and 8 siblings.
