Francisco J. Esquivel

Francisco “Frank” Javier  Esquivel, 64, of Payette, ID passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2024 at his home surrounded by family due to complications from cancer.

Frank was born on June 10, 1960, to Francisco and Valentina Esquivel in Eagle Pass, TX.  The Esquivel family moved to Idaho in 1974 where Frank attended Payette High School.  Here, Frank met his wife Sylvia and they married in 1978.

Frank and Sylvia went on to have three children, Michael, Henry, and Sarah.

Frank began a career in public service in 1992.  In his law enforcement career, he acted as a dispatcher, a patrolman, a corrections officer, a presentence investigator with the Commission of Pardons and Parole, a reserve deputy, and a probation and parole agent.  He retired from law enforcement as a patrolman with the Middleton Police Department.

He worked in nearly every discipline of the profession and was seen as a leader and role model.  He was truly a hero.

Frank enjoyed the outdoors and took great pride in his knife and firearm collections and passing on this knowledge to anyone who would listen.  Frank was a self-proclaimed jack of all trades and was the first person to call when help was needed.  Most importantly, Frank simply enjoyed the company, togetherness, and love of his family.

Frank is preceded in death by his father Francisco and son-in-law Holden Price. He is survived by Sylvia, his wife of 46 years, his mother Valentina Esquivel, his sister Valentina (Louis, Gloria, Toni) Rodriguez, his brother Samuel (Ana, Maria, Ana, Ezak, Emilio) Esquivel; his three children Michael (Santana) Esquivel, Henry (Leslie) Esquivel, and Sarah Esquivel; and his two grandchildren Mateo and Frankie Esquivel and adopted daughter Treasure Bowman and adopted granddaughter Jayne Bowman.

A viewing will be held at Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, 840 6th Ave S, Payette, ID on Friday, September 6, from 4:00-6:00 PM.
