Dorothea Romero Obituary

Our mom Dorothea Macias Romero known by many as Lolita passed away peacefully at her home on November 5, 2024.

Mom was born on February 6,1933 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Cruz and Leandra Macias. Has four siblings Tia Guadalupe+, Tia Ester+, Tia Mele+, Tio Jesus.

On December 15, 1947, my mom and dad were married in Eagle Pass, Texas at a very young age. With her new husband they migrated to Oregon where they eventually settled down in Ontario and raised their family of 11 children. They were married 68 years before her husband passed.

Besides being a homemaker and raising their family she was employed at many jobs including agriculture worker, teacher assistance at Oregon Child Development Center, and eventually was hired at Ore-Ida Foods from where she retired after 26 plus years.

Lola was a happy loving person and admired by all who she met. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, fishing, camping, dancing, singing, and attending church with all her children.

She and her husband had their own upholstery business for many years and were active members of their community.

Lola is survived by her children, Hector Romero Jr., Meridian, ID, Sylvia Romero (Socorro Olvera) Murphy, ID, Robert Romero (Linda) San Antonio, TX, Maria Romero (Estevan Arambula) Ontario, OR, Sofia Romero, Caldwell, ID, Alicia Romero, Ontario, OR, Dorothy Romero, Ontario, OR, Mercy Day (Brodrik Day) Valrico, FL, Daniel Romero (Daphnie) Twin Falls, ID, Elizabeth Krise(John Krise) Shelton, WA and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.(250); her brother Jesus Macias (Ignacia) and various nieces and nephews and many godchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hector Romero, Daughter Rosa Garcia, Son Cesar Romero, granddaughters Cecilia Romero and Samantha Almodovar, grandsons Cruz Corona, Pedro Almodovar, Santana Sifuentes, Great Grandson Esiel Oseguera.
