On Wednesday, February 19, 2020 Coy Bowen, loving husband and ‘Pa’ to five children passed away peacefully in Fruitland, Idaho at the age of 84.
Coy was born April 10, 1935 in Keystone, Nebraska to William and Lula (Wilson) Bowen. He was a wanderer and at the age of thirteen he left his home to go explore the world he lived in, and it was the most interesting adventure resulting in many great memories. He had many adventures in this life, though his passion was horses and raising his family. He married the love of his life, LaWanda Edith Fochtman November 9, 1968 and they raised their five children in Prineville and John Day, Oregon. After their children were raised they moved to Fruitland, Idaho to be closer to family.
Coy was preceded in death by his wife LaWanda; his parents; his brothers Paul and Jerry; and sisters Jean, Lucille, Roberta and Ruby.
He is survived by his children Donna (Dave) Demaris, Allan Rife, Deneise (Joe) Bill, Darla Rife, and Debra (Clair) Hamill, his eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Coy’s desire was to be cremated and laid to rest in Park View Cemetery with the love of his life LaWanda without any services. A special thank you goes out to the caring people in Dad’s life who were always there to visit and help him.
