Catherine Maguire

Catherine “Cathy” Maguire, 82, of Payette, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care on July 31, 2025.

She was born on August 15, 1942, in Springfield, Massachusetts, and lived a life full of faith, compassion, and service. Cathy was a loving and generous woman, known for her warm personality, quick wit, and the deep Christian faith that guided her every step.

She shared her joy and strength with others in many ways—teaching preschool in her early years, becoming a phlebotomist in California, and later teaching exercise classes for seniors, helping countless people improve their lives and health. Cathy also had a gift for spontaneous poetry, which she always credited to God, and she led many to faith through her words and example.

She loved gardening, traveling, and camping, and her vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Cathy is survived by her children, Tommy and his wife Mayra, and Linda and her husband Steven; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she graced.

A private remembrance will be held by the family.
