Wayne Rankin

Wayne Theodore Rankin, 83, died Friday, September 29, 2017 at Pioneer Nursing Home. Private services will be held at a later date. Wayne was born September 21st, 1934 in Forest City, Illinois, the son of Helen Hulse and Raymond Rankin. He was united in marriage to Barbara Smith August 12th, 1960. Wayne was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force and worked in the aircraft business for most of his adult life. He also spent several years working on ranches in the Pendleton area. After Barbara passed away in 2010, he moved to Ontario, Oregon. Survivors include: his daughter Jan Koontz (Brian) of Eldorado, Kansas; son Jim Rankin (Suzie) of Ontario, Oregon; son Ken Rankin (Jennifer) of Mossy Rock, Washington; five grandchildren—Tony, Bobbie Jo, Mike, Matt, and Megan; and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother. Private services will be held at a later date.
