Debbie Lynn Petty, 53, of Nyssa, Oregon made her journey home to her Heavenly Father Saturday, October 5, 2019, surrounded by her loving husband, son, and daughter. Although her body was not healed from her cancer here on Earth, she is perfectly healed and pain-free in Heaven.
Debbie was born February 2, 1966 in Palmer, Alaska to George and Sammie Long. She was raised in California where she met the love of her life, Duane Petty, in the Spring of 1990. They married October 5, 1991 and together, moved to Oregon and raised their two kids, hunting, fishing, and camping any chance they could get. Holidays spent with family was something that meant a lot to Debbie. Her home was most often filled with family and friends and friends of friends, whom she always welcomed in as family.
In 2010 Debbie’s life changed when she accepted Jesus into her heart. She became a member of Faith, Hope, and Love Assembly of God in Vale, Oregon where she hauled her grandkids nearly every weekend, to read and learn from the Bible. Each day she strived to serve God and bring her family into the love of Jesus, buying each of them bibles and fervently praying for everyone she possibly could.
Debbie is survived by her Husband Duane, whom she loved and appreciated until the last day of her life, her children, Daniel Petty (Niki) and Samantha Moody (Ryan), grandkids; Teagan, Chade, Landyn, Gavyn, Jonah, Masyn, Ethyn, Carter, and Sage, her mom, Sammie, Dad, George, four sisters, and many others who thought of her as a mom, aunt, sister and grandma.
A graveside service to honor her life will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Owyhee Cemetery at 10:00am.
