Clayne Cooper

October 17, 1931 ~ October 22, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Clayne (Coop) Cooper 86, of Ontario, Oregon passed away surrounded by family at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa, Idaho. Clayne was 1 of 4 Children born to Emmett and Ethel (Newman) Cooper on the family ranch in Emmett, Idaho on October 17th, 1931. He was raised on the lower Emmett Bench and graduated from New Plymouth High School in 1949. He attended Boise Junior College where he pitched baseball for their team.

He then was drafted into the United States Army from 1954-1956, He spent time in Alaska and served in the Korean War. While in the Army he worked in diesel repair, He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. After his military service he returned home.

In May of 1957 he married Marjorie Bennett, to this union a son Tim was born in 1958, followed by a daughter Tracey in 1961. Clayne and Marjorie later divorced.

In 2001 he met the love of his life Shannon Schuster, to this union gained two daughters.

Clayne is survived by his wife Shannon, Son, Tim (Laurie) Cooper of Emmett, Idaho. Daughter, Tracey (Jeff) Sherman also of Emmett. Keely (Freddy) Ponce of Ontario, Leah (Ian) Walker of Lewiston Idaho. His Twin Sister Chloris Curnutt from Port Orchard Washington. Brother in Law Jeff (Sheri) Schuster of Payette, Daren (Pam) Schuster of Ontario, his special Grandchildren whom he adored and several nieces, nephews. and extended family.

Clayne was a testimony of a true cowboy, He was an honest, hard working tough man with so much integrity. His heart was as big as the State of Texas; He loved his family and friends and who would do anything for anyone. He loved to watch all kinds of sports and he loved a good debate, whether it was politics, Cattle ranching or Everyday life. He was always a great host and loved to entertain. Their home was always open. He will be dearly missed.
