Billy passed away peacefully at home on October 23rd. He had been ill for several months.
Billy was born Jan. 2, 1934 in Fairport, Missouri to Chester and Evalena (Casper) Hardin. He graduated from Maysville High School in Missouri. Shortly after graduation, he joined the army. After his honorable discharge, he began a lifelong career of truck driving. This truck driving career spanned over 40 years.
In 1990 he and his wife Karen and 2 boys, Bill Jr. and Robert moved to Oregon to be with his step daughter, Dawnita Haueter and family. He then started driving truck for DeBruyn Produce, Oregon Trail Mushroom and Baker Packing. Nearing retirement, he went to work for Skyline Farms.
Billy leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Karen; their 2 sons, Bill Jr. (Carrie) Hardin, Robert (Jennifer) Hardin; step daughter Dawnita (Dean) Haueter; daughter Mylissa (Monty) Hilte; son, Earl Hardin and 3 brothers of Missouri; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Billy will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to the staff of Heart ‘n Home Hospice.
