Dearest Paulette and children, I'm so touched by the passing of Lynn. He has been in my heart many years as the champion of righteousness and true goodness. You have always been special to me. I'm so terribly sorry I didn't know sooner of your challenges. May God continue to bless you with his love.

To The Jensen Family: I am very sorry to hear of your loss and the loss of a valued colleague at OSU. Lynn’s funeral was very nicely done, with some wonderful memories shared. Over many years in working with Lynn, I always admired his dedication to assisting the citizens in Malheur County and his common sense approach to resolve issues at OSU. Attending the Malheur Station field day this past summer provided a special memory of him operating so well in his “element”. May God bless you with peace and comfort during this difficult season.

I am thinking of you during this difficult time. Many times when Lynn had a smile on his face in the office, he had just received new pictures of grandchildren, which he was so proud of! May the special memories you shared be your strength and comfort. I appreciated Lynn knowing the impact that 4-H has on youth in the county.

I worked with Lynn for many years when he was the faithful secretary of the Malheur County Onion Growers Association. My capacity in that time was as secretary-treasurer of the Idaho Onion Growers Association. It was a great pleasure to cooperate with him on many joint projects of these two grower associations. Lynn was slow to speak, but heard when he did. We all respected his view and enjoyed having him as a friend and co-worker. His leadership and level head will be missed.

Paulette and family,
We were so sorry to hear about Lynn's illness and death. I remember his family with fond memories of being neighbors, attending the Preston 5th Ward, playing in the snow, our baby sitter, and other activities. I would like to extend my condolences to Lynn's family and friends on behalf of the many onion research and extension colleagues and growers in Colorado and elsewhere who had the pleasure of knowing and working with Lynn over the years. Lynn was always a valued friend and colleague who was willing to share his time, thoughts and experiences with us all at meetings, field days, collaborative projects, and one-on-one conversations. He was always one of the first to volunteer to help with any project, and made that extra effort to answer every question raised by his colleagues, growers, students and others. We will all miss Lynn, and want to thank his family for sharing him with us.

You meet a lot of great people working in the Ag industry, but Lynn was one of the best. He was the ultimate professional and really cared about the people he worked with. I will miss his quick wit and understated way of expressing himself.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I recall meeting Lynn at OSU several years ago (probably longer ago than I am thinking) at an Extension meeting in Corvallis. He was so knowledgeable and so willing to help others. I always referred people interested in the latest on potatoes and onions to him! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this hard time.

Lynn will be remembered by many, many people in the Extension Service. I remember his quiet demeanor and kindness. He was a great staff chair and looked after the Malheur County office's best interests at all times. May good memories sustain you all as you move through your grief journey. Your husband and father made a lasting mark on Oregon and Idaho agriculture and on those of us who knew him.

I want to express my sorrow for the loss of Lynn. As a fellow Extension Agent I grew to admire and respect him and I know that his departure will leave a great void in our organization. I was very surprised to read of Lynn's death today in an email. I didn't realize he was ill. I have worked with Lynn for about 5 years, but only over the phone. Lynn provided me plenty of useful information about the marketing of potatoes and onions when I was working on a publication about commodity distribution. Later, when I was assigned to provide administrative support, I was struck by the kindness and compassion he displayed toward one of the faculty under his supervision. I will always remember his comment when her situation was at odds with administrative goals. He was supportive and loyal. My sympathy goes to Lynn's family. He was a cousin, classmate in Preston and I had the opportunity of visiting with him frequently at potato meetings across the country. He had a gentle, kind spirit and the growers appreciated him very much. His memory will live on in the great way he lived his life.
