Barbara Louise Ralston

Barbara Louise Ralston, our sweet, beautiful mom, passed away peacefully in her sleep at St. Lukes Hospital in Boise on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017. She was surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 25th, 1942, in Payette, to Ralph Burton Lauer and Martha Angelina Weise. She was the second child of five children. She was raised on a farm on the Oregon slope and graduated from Ontario High School.

     On June 5th, 1965, she married her sweetheart, Samuel S. Ralston. They were later sealed in the Boise LDS Temple. Barbara and Sam enjoyed working together in their garden, taking trips to Sumpter and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

     Mom was a very hard worker and never wanted to be the center of attention. She just wanted to love her two children and five grandchildren and have them love her. They lived most of their lives in Fruitland, Idaho. Barbara worked for the Holloway Motor Company out of high school, and then worked with her husband in their aviation business for many years and she also enjoyed selling Avon. She was always planting a garden or sewing. She enjoyed cake decorating, cooking, horses and raising Siamese cats. Her cupcakes were known and loved by her grandkids and all those that knew her. Mom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved going to girl's camp. Mom loved to help others, she was a great listener and was always intuitive to their needs.

     She is survived by her husband, Sam; daughter, Susan (Brian) Parker; daughter, Nancy (Jerry) McQuiston; grandchildren: Brayden and Maddie Parker; Courtney Allen; Cailen McQuiston and Brianna Denson; and her brothers Ross Lauer and Jerry (Barbara) Lauer.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, her little brother Jerry and her little sister Linda.

     Funeral services will be held Monday, June 5th at 11am at the Fruitland LDS chapel, 325 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. There will be a viewing Sunday evening, June 4th from 7pm to 8pm at the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at the Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth following the ceremony.
